![]() We, developers, will write a Device Driver for the Wacom Tablet myself, will put it as open source on the internet, where is the Microsoft Pen Device Driver Specs and Clear Documents and Sample for Pen Input? Whatever out there is for a mouse that may be Now I know why device manufacturers struggle, Microsoft just did not provide anything to clearly state “Hey, this is how Windows 8 or 8.1 or 10 expects to receive pen events” and now it is up to each developer to figure out workarounds. I am a software developer, and I want to download the Demo Microsoft Pen Driver sample, and wire it to a Wacom tablet, change the Wacom input values to the one provided by the tablet, compile it and done.īut wait, there isn’t any sample by Microsoft out there! Nice there is some sample about a mouse, and that’s it. That’s it, no more no less, this does not even have to be compatible with Windows 10 if the driver model for Windows 10 Pen did not change, as simple as that, the rest will be taken care by Windows How hard is it to produce a Pen Tablet driver?Ģ- Send the Pen location events as Windows Pen locationģ- Send the Pen tap events as Window Pen tap eventsĤ- Send the Pen Pressure events as Windows Pen pressure eventsĥ- Send the Pen angle events as Windows Pen angle events (if Windows supports that, not sure).Ħ- Send the Pen button press events as Windows button press events.ħ- Send the tablet touch events as windows touch events Maybe it is not Wacom or the others this time, maybe it is Microsoft! Search Amazon for Pen Tablets, there are plenty from plenty of companies, open every one of them and look at the comments, the tablets are good, but the drivers are not, and that is repeating all over. If it doesn’t fix things, we’ll need to go through a question and answer session with screenshots etc.The issue is maybe Microsoft not Wacom or the other Pen Table companies Let us know if that deals with the problem. It’s a small tickbox somewhere.Ĭlose the Wacom utility, close krita and do a power-off restart of your computer. If you haven’t already done so, make a profile for krita and always select that profile when you’re making changes related to use with krita.ĭisable Windows Ink in the Wacom setup utility. In the Wacom control/setup utility, there is the facility to make separate profiles for different applications. In Settings → Configure Krita → Tablet settings, make sure the option buttons are Wintab, not Windows Ink. You have a Wacom so I’ll suggest that you try using Wintab settings (because it’s a lot simpler than Windows Ink): If that doesn’t fix it, then it becomes more complicated. In Settings → Configure Krita → Tablet settings, swap the settings from Wintab to Windows-Ink, or the other way around if it was Windows-Ink to start with. It can also be caused by a faulty tablet (a very rare thing) or a bad or broken driver (unlikely with Wacom on Windows 10 nowadays, they seem to have improved a lot). It’s because of a mismatch between the tablet settings in krita and how the tablet is actually configured.
